A vigil was held outside the U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement headquarters in response to the arrest of 42 people suspected of being illegal immigrants at Dulles International Airport.

Alethia Grooms, a real estate agent accused of defrauding the city's tax office out of almost $50 million, pleaded guilty. Grooms faces hefty fines and prison time.

Michelle Rhee's pay proposal, designed to  hold instructors accountable for spikes in student achievement, is causing a rift among the city's teachers.

The New York Times reports that by 2042, minorities in the country will outnumber whites.
