Happy almost-2009, readers! We're sure you've already made plans, whether it's staying in, dining out, or going to a huge party (isn't Gawker's list of the "5 Types of New Year's Parties" so true?) but in case you haven't, make sure to take one final glance at our guide to all things New Year's Eve.

What, is every major road in the DC area going to be closed to traffic during inauguration? 

Guess who's coming to town this weekend? Oh, only our next President. Obama will be making the move to a hotel, where he and his family will stay until January 15.  Then they move into the official White House guest house, and then, well, you can guess where they move after that.
