The Tweet Beat: The Best Congressional Tweets of the Week

Another week, another misplaced apostrophe from John McCain, but this time as a special holiday bonus there’s more than one to look for. We love you, Sen. McCain, but you’re obviously aware of Twitter’s need for brevity (“continue the fight 2 prevent cuts 2 Medicare”) so why all the unnecessary punctuation?

In other news, our representatives seemed to enjoy Thanksgiving, with nary a partisan jab between them (except for you, John Culberson). We’d like to give thanks for Chuck Grassley, without whom the Twittersphere would be a much duller place. John Boehner seems to be outraged by the fact that stimulus money is going to dancers studying ants  in Arizona- perhaps John McCain could investigate? Senator Inouye had a meeting with one of the few people whose name is more unpronounceable than his own, Claire McCaskill hearts Mark Twain, Jason Chaffetz is still eating badly, John Shimkus is still applying bible passages to everyday life and Joe Wilson admires General Petraeus but can’t spell his name. It is a bit tricky though, in all fairness.
