They say love happens when you least expect it. That certainly seems to hold true for this week’s group of Craigslist users, who found romance in the darkest corners of the Smithsonian and in the shade of a dumpster. If these Missed Connections work out, they’ll certainly have a great story for the kids.

Union Station 5:25pm –
To the portly gentleman with dark-rimmed glasses yelling at the WMATA employee—“Two of the gates over there are broken. . . this is why we don’t respect you. . . you need to do your job. . .”—YOU ARE VERY MEAN!
Yes, Metro has a lot of problems, but it’s not that individual employee’s fault, and it’s certainly not an excuse to be so disrespectful! You need chill and find some perspective in your life
We agree with the poster, but is this really the right venue for a lecture on human decency?

who do you think you are Running ‘round leaving scars Collecting your jar of hearts And tearing love apart You’re gonna catch a cold From the ice inside your soul So don’t come back for me Who do you think you are
And it took so long just to feel alright Remember how to put back the light in my eyes I wish I had missed the first time that we kissed Cause you broke all your promises
At least it rhymes . . . sort of.

Hi,
I am the guy in the suit who was standing at the Old Glory/American Flag display at the American History Museum yesterday. You walked up, took my hand and led me into the darkened area of the display and we kissed passionately for a few minutes, then you walked away with ever having said a word.
I can’t stop thinking about you but you made my day.
I want to do it again. . .the anonimity of our encounter was really exhilerating.
plaease get in touch and tell me when and where to meet you again.
This might actually be the weirdest encounter we’ve seen on Missed Connections. Don’t they have security in that room?
BYT All Access Holiday Party–m4w–22 (Newseum)
Date: 2010-12-05, 5:01PM EST
We crossed glances at the BYT party at the Newseum last Friday. I’m not sure if this will be enough to identify you but it’s a start. . .
I was wearing a button down shirt and a cardigan.
You have long brown hair and were wearing a skirt, leggings and had on thick-rimmed glasses.
JESUS THAT DOESN’T HELP sorry we are never going to find each other
We were thinking the exact same thing. But at least you’re self-aware!

Strange as this sounds, thanks for the hug at the dumpster. I needed it also, hope you read this msg, trying to reach you.
This one is so oddly specific that it might actually work.
