Teacher Arrested for Solicitation: A Fairfax school band director was arrested last week for soliciting a 15 year old online. The instructor, 43-year-old Michael K. Cook of Centreville, has been placed on administrative leave. He will appear in court at 10 AM today in Fairfax District Court.

Strasburg Boosts Nats Bottom Line: Beloved pitcher Stephen Strasburg is planning to make his return to Nationals Park this evening after taking time out for an injury. The Washington Examiner points out that Strasburg’s return will likely result in higher ticket sales, and, ultimately, a fatter bottom line.

Fifty Move Toward Marijuana Distribution: DC’s Department of Health greenlighted 50 candidates to apply for a license to grow or sell marijuana in the District. Just 15 will be granted a license to distribute the drug for medicinal purposes.

Alexandria Employee Arrested for Embezzlement: An Alexandria city employee, 44-year-old Jeffrey Power of Springfield, was arrested last week on charges of embezzling nearly $9,000 in city funds. Power was placed on administrative leave, and police say he was paid for overtime he did not work.
