Metro called the driver’s actions “completely inappropriate” and are launching an investigation. Unfortunately they have no idea who the driver is and are hoping whoever shot the video will come forward to help identify the driver.
Rhee And Johnson Marry: This sure flew under the radar. Former DC schools chancellor Michelle Rhee married Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson over the weekend in a private ceremony in Tennessee.
New Speed Cameras: Get ready for more speed cameras on District roads. The Metropolitan Police Department announced 19 new cameras yesterday, concentrated in areas that feature the highest number of crashes and injuries. For now, violators will get off with a warning, but real tickets will be issued beginning on October 1.
Briefly Noted:The Atlantic’s Richard Florida named H Street, Northeast, one of his “10 great places to explore urban neighborhoods” in an article featured in USA Today. . . . MetroWeekly reports that Apex, the gay nightclub that shuttered suddenly in July, will reopen as Phase 1, a lesbian nightclub.
