Washington’s Adoptable Pets of the Week: May 22, 2015

Nino (above) is a six-year-old, 65-pound American Staffordshire terrier-mix. Nino was surrendered to the Washington Humane Society in March after his owners moved and didn’t take him along. Since he’s already an adult, he has great manners—but don’t worry, he also has plenty of pep, too. Nino is part of the WHS People and Animal Cardio Klub (PACK) and enjoys going on runs or long walks. His favorite thing is getting massages from his human friends and then crashing on the couch. You can meet him at the WHS Georgia Avenue Adoption Center.

Vinny is a four-year-old collie mix who weighs about 65 pounds. He lives in a foster home with his best friend, Tigger, and he is a sweet, curious, and gentle boy. He loves people and is a generally terrific dog. He gets along well with all female dogs, but is not always thrilled with dominant male dogs. You can meet him through K-9 Lifesavers.

Shiloh is a Labrador-mix who is approximately four years old and 55 pounds. She is a mellow, gentle, loving girl who gets along well with everyone. She is great with children and shares a foster home with two other dogs. She has done great with housebreaking, walks well on the leash, and is a very sweet, quiet girl. She bonds with people easily and is not jumpy or hyper. You can meet her through K-9 Lifesavers.

Dozier is a boxer-mix who is about seven months old. He is friendly and sweet and will make a wonderful companion. He weighs around 35 pounds now and it doesn’t look like he’ll get much bigger.. Lassi is a hound-mix rescued from a high-kill shelter. She looks to be about three years old. She would be a perfect fit for someone looking for a mid-energy dog who is easy going.
